About Basta
What does Basta mean? Literally translated, basta is Italian for “enough”. It’s used to express when a chef has prepared food exactly right. Not too little. Not too much. Basta!
Who is the chef? Brady McDonald is the Executive Chef of Basta. Bobby Castle is Chef de Cuisine.
What kind of food do you serve? Basta serves modern Italian cuisine, inspired by tradition and local Iowa ingredients. Our pizza is classic Napoli style.
Who operates and owns the restaurant? Basta is owned by Jack Piper and James Adrian, who also own Atlas and Jimmy Jack’s Rib Shack, and Chef Brady McDonald.
Is there a dress code? A shirt and maybe something on your bottom.
